The City of Wilsonville Public Works (PW) department is seeking interns for temporary employment. The Public Works & GIS interns will work as a multi-person team responsible for asset data collection and GIS projects for the City.
The candidates will primarily be focused on gathering attribute and location data for the City's infrastructure. This inventory will be performed using ESRI GIS applications and Cartegraph, the City's enterprise asset management system. Additional work may be assigned based on time available and the needs of the City.
In this position, the candidates will have the opportunity to work closely with the City's Public Works management team as well as staff in the Public Works department. The candidate will help to develop the work plan and daily schedule that best meets the goals for the project.

QualificationsCandidates should have experience using GIS in a municipal IS/IT environment.
GIS Certificate or pursuing a GIS or related degree is preferred.
Knowledge of Facilities is ideal and candidates with an academic or professional background in architectural design or building operations preferred but not required.
Ability to read architectural, structural, roadway plans sets and plats is ideal.
Candidates can also expect to perform some work with the utilization of ladders as well as work along roadways and will be required to follow all City safety procedures.
Experience using mobile applications and tablets for data collection is preferred.
The Public Works & GIS Intern program is scheduled to run for approximately 24 weeks. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the candidates may have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule. Due to the nature of the projects remote work is not currently an option for this position.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Preference will be given to candidates who will be local for the duration of the internship.
