Avid Core is seeking a Mid-Level GIS Analyst with experience
utilizing geographic information systems to support a federal government client in Norfolk, Virginia. We’re looking for a passionate, detail-oriented person interested in supporting the U.S. Coast Guard. The position is at the client location
in Norfolk, VA.

Salary Range: $67,000-$83,000, based on experience and qualifications.
 


 

Overall Responsibilities:
 

  • Develop, edit, and maintain GIS data layers, web maps, and related geospatial products using Esri’s ArcGIS suite and Survey123 Connect. 
  • Input and update data within GIS systems, with an emphasis on asset and facilities management. 
  • Create and maintain documentation including memorandums, letters, presentations, spreadsheets, and emails to support internal Coast Guard operations and coordination with partner agencies. 
  • Manage the integration of AutoCAD-based Plot Plans of Record into GIS and support the export of GIS data back into AutoCAD formats. 
  • Maintain data linkages between the Coast Guard Technical Information Management System (CG-TIMS) and associated GIS layers. 
  • Collaborate with the Mission Support Product Line to maintain GIS layers for the Utility Inventory, Condition Assessment, and Mapping (ICAM) web application. 
  • Develop and document workflows to support notification and tracking of updates to GIS data. 
  • Maintain existing GIS data connections and configurations within the ArcGIS environment. 
  • Support the enrollment and ongoing management of real property assets within GIS. 
  • Produce high-quality GIS products such as maps, charts, analyses, and reports as directed by the SILC GIS Program Manager or Contracting Officer’s Representative. 
  • Serve as a GIS subject matter expert, offering guidance and training to Coast Guard personnel and subordinate units. 

 

Qualifications/Skills:
 

  • US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED. Must be willing to undergo a government background investigation due to the nature of the work. 
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience developing, editing, and maintaining GIS data layers and web maps using Esri’s ArcGIS suite and Survey123 Connect, specifically in support of asset or facilities management. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in GIS data development, editing, and management. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for the creation of professional communications and documentation. 
  • Experience with Power BI tools, such as analyzing data, developing dashboards and/or ESRI integration.

Education:  

  • Associate’s degree or higher in GIS, Surveying, Engineering, Cartography, Geography, Information Systems, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on asset or facilities management.
