Graduate GIS Analyst - Aviation

Our employee-owned and integrated team of multi-disciplined engineering, design, and planning professionals has an opportunity available for a Gradaute GIS Analyst to join our team in MSP!
 
Our extensive portfolio showcases projects from all of TKDA’s markets, ranging from aviation specific Enterprise datasets to web applications for our municipal sector.  As a member of our employee owned and integrated team of multi-disciplined professionals, you will work alongside planners and engineers on a variety of projects including Airport Master Plans and Airport Layout Plans (ALPs), as well as work with newly launched photogrammetry and LiDAR projects. You will work seamlessly between a GIS desktop environment and ArcGIS Online, perform data conversion between CAD drawings and GIS, manage geodatabases, interpret aerial imagery, engineering schematics, and GIS data, and build web and mobile applications.
 
Our Aviation team has been providing consultation services to airports throughout the country for more than 75 years. We have a long and successful record of completing airport planning, design and construction projects at airports that range from small general aviation airports to large international hub airports. Through these projects, our employees have had opportunities to collaborate with airport management, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), state aeronautics agencies, airport tenants and the public at-large on a wide variety of airport improvement projects.
Responsibilities
    • Perform spatial and 3D analysis to support various aviation-related projects
    • Develop maps and exhibits for Airport Master Plans and Airport Layout Plans (ALPs)
    • Collaborate with planners and engineers to integrate GIS solutions into project workflows
    • Work on newly launched photogrammetry and LiDAR projects, ensuring accurate data collection and interpretation
    • Operate seamlessly within a GIS desktop environment and ArcGIS Online
    • Convert data between CAD drawings and GIS formats for efficient integration
    • Manage and maintain geodatabases to support project needs
    • Interpret aerial imagery, engineering schematics, and GIS data for analysis and presentation
    • Build and deploy web and mobile applications for geospatial data visualization and use
Required Qualifications
    • Recent graduate with an Associates Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or Geography.
    • Working knowledge of ESRI desktop software (ArcMap 10.X, ArcGIS Pro).
    • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a collaborative environment.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills demonstrated by an ability to participate in group discussions during plan reviews and project team meetings, and an ability to assist with the collection and presentation of technical information and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
    • Previous experience or training with AutoCAD; Ability to convert data between AutoCAD and GIS.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in GIS or Geography.
    • Previous experience collecting and processing data related to the creation and management of geodatabases. 
    • Working knowledge of GIS scripting languages such as ESRI’s Arcade, Java Script or Python.
    • Familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal.
    • Previous internship experience or coursework related to engineering or planning.
    • Previous experience conducting topographic surveys or field data collection. 
$61,000 - $67,000 a year
The listed pay range reflects only the base pay range for candidates with 0 to 3 years of related experience. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities.
