Muller Engineering Company is seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for a GIS Technician within the GIS & Visualization team in the Program Management group. In this role, you would work closely with the GIS Manager and Analyst on a wide variety of projects and tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in GIS data management, spatial data analysis, cartography and map production, GIS/CAD interoperability, data editing and creation, and knowledge of topographic data types. The tasks will be varied, and the candidate should be ready for new challenges and problem solving. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who will provide high-quality work, excellent client service, understand project requirements and context, and meet deadlines. They should also be able to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively.  

Muller Engineering Company is located in Lakewood, CO, where team members have the opportunity to collaborate in person through a hybrid work schedule. We welcome applicants from across the continental United States who are willing to relocate. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with multi-disciplinary GIS processing tasks and data analysis. 

  • Cartographic development, editing, and production. 

  • Develop and manage ArcGIS Online content. 

  • Work closely with engineers, planners, and drafters on widely varied transportation and water resources projects. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 



Requirements

Education and/or Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Planning, or related field. 

  • 1-3 years of experience in the field of GIS, preferably related to engineering or planning. 

  • Technical knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Applications and associated analytical extensions. 

  • Excellent data management practices. 

  • Visual communication skills and design acumen. 

  • Oral and written communication skills. 

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams. 

Additional skills that are preferred but not required: 

  • Experience in design software such as the Adobe Creative Suite is highly desirable, with emphasis on vector-based editing and image manipulation for cartographic applications. 

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley Microstation/OpenRoads Designer, and experience with GIS/CAD interoperability. 

  • Experience with 3D modeling applications creating and editing 3D models, renderings, and other visualization products. 

The base salary range for this position is: $60,000/yr - $75,000/yr dependent on individual education, qualification, experience, and other factors.
