Summary
Under the supervision of the GIS-911 Programs Manager, this position provides assistance with 911 addressing and general Geographic Information System (GIS) database maintenance tasks. This position also provides basic map production and spatial data assistance to various other departments, the general public, and outside agencies.
Responsibilities- Assists with general mapping functions and issues related to 911 address assignments for residents or properties in Hays County.
- Assists with maintenance of the 911 database.
- Provides maps and related GIS assistance as needed to the public and other County staff in-person via telephone, and via email.
- Assists with data research at the Hays County Clerk’s Office or Appraisal District or any other venue as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- This position minimally requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of GIS-related experience,
- OR Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geospatial Science, Geography, Surveying and Mapping, or relevant degree with no years of experience.
