The Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) Operations & Maintenance Group (O&M) is seeking an experienced Geographic Information System GIS/BIM (Building Information Modeling) Technician to lead our dynamic team of skilled GIS/CAD/Revit Modelers and to assist them in mapping and managing assets in a 3D spatial environment.
Job Appointment: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri. 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, an alternate schedule may be available after probation.

This position requires a complete knowledge base of ERSI ArcGIS applications, Autodesk AEC applications, including Civil 3D, Recap, Revit, Navisworks, and the Autodesk Construction Cloud project management platform. In addition, this role will provide leadership to the GIS/CAD/3D modeling team by providing guidance, training, and technical support of complex processes and procedures. The applicant will also be responsible for developing and managing GIS/CAD/BIM standards and applying them by collaborating with internal staff and external consultants and contractors. It is preferred that the applicant has a background in GIS and its concepts, principles, techniques, with an understanding of GIS web-based mapping practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead GIS/CAD/Revit Modelers in development of 3D digital twin.
- Collaborate with consultant and contractors while maintaining GIS/CAD/BIM standards.
- Review drawings/models for accuracy and consistency.
- Host weekly 3D modeling user group meetings.
- Develop and implement best practices for GIS/CAD/BIM processes.
- Implement data management strategies put forth by the bureau.
- Collaborate with internal staff managing workflow and deliverables.
- Perform 3D modeling utilizing BIM software and techniques.
- Manage terabytes of data related to 3D modeling in BIM.
- Collaborate with the O&M Division Manager/CAD Supervisor to ensure that the required drafting/modeling work is assigned to and distributed equitably amongst staff.

- Experience leading and directing technical staff including mentoring, coaching, and ensuring timelines are on schedule.

- Experience with surveying practices including terrestrial scanning.
