Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the GIS Manager or designee performs work of implementing, manipulating and maintaining geographic information systems (GIS) capabilities in support of departmental, interdepartmental and interagency goals. Responsibilities are entering, maintaining, and updating County GIS data, preparing digital data and hardcopy maps for distribution to other public and private agencies. Assist in application development and administration. Performs analytics for designated department projects at entry level. Learns the GIS business side of a department(s) in order to provide support and GIS products. Familiarizes with the County’s GIS Data Viewer technology to answer questions and train other users.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in Cartography, Geography, or related field required. One (1) or more years of related experience with ESRI software (ArcGIS 10.x or 11.x and extensions). One (1) or more years of related experience working with different GIS vector and raster data formats. Additional years of formal education in GIS may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required work experience. Proof of one (1) Cartography course required. Cartography skills required; examples of work required. Must successfully complete a GIS Skills Assessment.

Salary Range:
