We are seeking a GIS Technician to work out of our Doylestown, PA office. We offer a hybrid work environment.

 

You will support a wide range of projects related to Land Development, Civil Engineering Design, Environmental Assessment/Remediation and Environmental Permitting. You will play a critical role in developing, maintaining, and delivering high-quality geospatial data and mapping products using Esri ArcGIS Pro, online GIS databases, and standardized layer packages.

 

This position requires both strong technical GIS skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with project managers, engineers, environmental scientists, and external stakeholders. Experience with performing GIS work for environmental/engineering consulting firms is a valuable asset.

 

Qualifications include:

  • Degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro.
  • Experience with layer packages and geodatabases.
  • Engineering/Environmental Consulting and Prior GIS experience preferred
  • Mining, energy, and oil & gas project experience is a plus
  • Survey/field experience is a plus (download and import survey points into CAD and prepare base mapping, export survey data to instruments as a field package)
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills a must
  • Solid skills in planning and scheduling, problem solving and decision-making

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize ArcGIS Pro to create, edit, analyze, and maintain geospatial datasets, maps, and layouts.
  • Develop, manage, and distribute layer packages, map packages, and geodatabases.
  • Work with online GIS databases and platforms.
  • Coordinate with project managers and technical staff.
  • Perform QA/QC on GIS datasets.
  • Maintain GIS data and metadata.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with PA datasets and Esri online tools.
  • Cursory understanding of AutoCAD/Civil 3D (standard drafting techniques, terminology and applications) for transfer of data from plans to packages is a plus
