Summary
Colorado Network Staffing, Inc. (CNS) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented GIS Technician to support the maintenance and integrity of geospatial data related to gas infrastructure. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that geographic data and documentation remain accurate, authoritative, and accessible across platforms. The GIS Technician will also serve as a knowledge resource for incoming staff and contribute to the continuity of operations through expert-level knowledge transfer.

This position will perform the following key responsibilities:

Update Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with current gas infrastructure data to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

Serve as a steward of authoritative documentation and mapping resources.

Utilize tools such as ESRI ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Maximo, and SharePoint for spatial data entry, analysis, and document management.

Conduct QA/QC checks to verify spatial and attribute accuracy of GIS data and related records.

Maintain metadata and documentation practices that align with organizational standards.

Provide guidance and mentorship to new team members to ensure consistent use of GIS tools and adherence to best practices.

Assist with the migration or integration of legacy data into modern systems as needed.

Support utility, engineering, or asset management teams with GIS data extraction and visualization tasks.

Perform other duties as assigned to support project and departmental goals.

High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.

Proficiency with the following software/tools is required:

ESRI ArcGIS
-
AutoCAD
-
Maximo
-
SharePoint
-
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Minimum of two (2) years of GIS-related experience, preferably in the utilities, infrastructure, or energy sector.

Must be able to pass a background check suitable for work in a regulated environment.

U.S. work authorization required.
This position operates primarily in an office setting but may occasionally require site visits or coordination with field personnel. Collaboration with engineering, asset management, and IT staff is frequent.

This is a full-time, on-site position.

Standard work schedule: Monday – Friday

Assignment Length: Ongoing, based on operational needs

Pay Rate (agreed with candidate): $34.00/hour
