Performs Geographic Information Systems (GIS) duties in direct support of, and in coordination with,
all Town departments. This position serves as a centralized GIS resource and is expected to work
collaboratively across multiple departments simultaneously, responding to varying operational
needs and priorities. Accomplishes tasks in accordance with general work instructions and
professional knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of GIS.
Uses GIS and project coordination skills to support department-specific and cross-departmental
projects, identify resource requirements, meet training needs, define project deliverables, ensure
data accuracy, and provide a high level of internal customer service. Regularly collaborates with staff
from different departments to identify technical approaches for GIS projects, translate departmental
needs into GIS solutions, and manage system development processes that serve organization-wide
goals.

· Works with appropriate staff and outside contractors to identify and coordinate new GIS system developments and enhancements.
· Works with appropriate staff and outside contractors to develop project charters, scope of work documents, and project plans that include an analysis of cost, benefit, work schedule, and any related risks.
· Administers the GIS software and hardware, including the ESRI.
· Leads other staff on GIS projects when necessary.
· Oversees the preparation of GIS maps, programs and reports for the Town.
· Assists all departments with GIS mapping and application development.
· Interacts with all departments to determine current and future GIS needs, including data and software.
· Researches issues, prepares reports, and corresponds on GIS issues.
· Answers questions and provides extensive employee training in GIS.
· Develops and supports GIS applications for the desktop, web, and mobile platforms.
· Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves technical issues related to ESRI products and other GIS software, including desktop, web, and mobile applications; coordinates with vendors and support services as needed.
· Maintains working knowledge of asset management and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and supports the integration and use of GIS data within asset management workflows across departments.
· Researches, evaluates, and recommends new GIS technologies, software, tools, and best practices to improve efficiency, data quality, and service delivery.
· Stays current with emerging GIS trends, standards, and innovations, including advancements in ESRI platforms, data management, and spatial analysis, and applies relevant developments to Town operations.
· Identifies opportunities to expand or enhance GIS use cases across departments through new applications, data sources, or system integrations.
· Create and maintain datasets (parcels, zoning, utilities, roads, assets).
· Integrate GIS with other systems (permitting, asset management, finance, public works).
· Translates non-technical needs into spatial solutions, creates tools that non-GIS staff can use and trains them to update.
· Creates dashboards for leadership, web maps or storyboards for staff or the public, automated workflows (data updates, reports, inspections), field data collection tools and training (mobile GIS).

Education or Formal Training:
Associate’s degree in computer science or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid Colorado’s Driver’s License.
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate preferred, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe if required by the position.
Work Environment:
General office environment but may require visits to locations outside of Town Hall. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
Salary Range:
$56,000 - $81,000 plus benefits package.
