GIS TECHNICIAN

 
DEPARTMENT:                             Elkhart County Auditor's Office

HIRING RANGE:                           $28.58-$31.75/hour based on education and position related experience.  Longevity pay after 3 years

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintaining County's county-wide parcel numbering system in Geographical Information System and property tax billing system and setting up new plats and parcels on GIS and tax billing system; Performs duties of various department positions and other duties as needed or assigned.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:                        
•    Associates degree in GIS or related field and real estate experience
•    Thorough knowledge of how to layout legal descriptions and produce detailed maps in cloud-based mapping software
•    Ability to count, compute, calculate & perform arithmetic operations
•    Excellent organizational, communication skills and a sound knowledge of office procedures and practices
•    Ability to work alone with minimal supervision as well as with others in a team environment
•    Pre-employment background check
