Description of Work

Create digital and large-format printed maps to support GIS requests and incident response mapping needs. Provide data quality control on data that we maintain in enterprise databases, online, and other formats. Perform spatial analysis upon request and develop scripts to automate these processes. Provide technical expertise to support GIS users throughout the department.

Candidate must live in Wake or adjacent counties or be willing to move at their own expense.

No state vehicle is provided for this position.

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

 

Recruitment Range: $56,772 - $64,000

  • Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise, including ArcGIS Online, Survey123, Field Maps, Experience Builder, ArcGIS HUB/Portal
  • Knowledge of Python programming for ArcGIS
  • Experience responding to incidents related to agricultural disasters in a GIS capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to add custom programming to automate GIS-related tasks

Minimum Education and Experience

Associate degree in Computer Science or an IT-related field; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in the field of technology related to the position's role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
