GIS Specialist I

SUMMARY:
This position as a GIS Specialist I is one of full-time employment. The GIS Specialist I is responsible for the production of figures, maps, exhibits, etc. and other documentation in support of Providence’s multiple media groups. Assignments will be primarily office-based and require departmental collaboration in a strong team-oriented environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Three years of experience working with GIS software and spatial analysis.
- Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, (Survey123, Field Maps, etc.) AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and produce maps, figures, and large-format meeting exhibits.
- Provide technical expertise in ArcGIS PRO and AutoCAD software.
- Conduct spatial analyses to identify patterns, trends, and relationships.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure GIS data and analyses support project goals and are easily interpretable.
- Remotely support environmental field crews using GIS online via Field Maps and Survey123.
- Ensure data accuracy and adherence to standards.
