In this role, you'll be the driving force behind maintaining accurate geographic data, producing high-quality maps, supporting County departments and local municipalities, and ensuring critical GIS information is available when and where it's needed. Essential Duties

As the County's GIS Specialist, you'll work on a wide variety of projects that make a real difference, including:

  • Develop, edit, and maintain GIS data using ArcGIS Pro and the Esri platform
  • Create and update parcel, addressing, road centerline, survey, zoning, conservation, and infrastructure datasets
  • Produce professional maps and spatial analyses for County departments, municipalities, and the public
  • Maintain countywide addressing and road data that supports 911 and emergency response
  • Support planning, conservation, zoning, environmental, and development projects through GIS analysis
  • Convert legacy GIS data into modern ArcGIS Pro environments
  • Maintain the County's Plat of Survey Index and Certified Survey Map records
  • Upload and manage GIS data for State, regional, and intergovernmental systems
  • Respond to mapping requests and provide technical GIS support to staff and community partners
  • Assist with grant-funded projects, special initiatives, and continuous GIS improvements

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible GIS experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License
  • ESRI or related GIS certifications are a plus—but not required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position is primarily office-based with occasional field work to verify GIS data, collect GPS information, and support County projects. You'll collaborate with departments across the organization while balancing independent technical work with customer-focused service.
