Summary
Under the direct supervision of the GIS Public Safety Specialist, this position will assist with the development and implementation of GIS network. This position is a project-based internship and will consist of data entry, analysis, and updating GIS records.
Assists with developing methods for system data collection and analysis.
Assists with the development of GIS workflow process among numerous data sources.
Assists with maintaining data, updating data, and providing overall governance of the GIS infrastructure.
Enters and updates the geometry and attribute values of GIS data from source documents.
Exports GIS data for use in other systems or for distribution.
Assists in coordinating efforts with and fostering positive relationships with all emergency service groups in the county and region.
Reviews, evaluates and recommends future hardware, software, and component needs.
Maintains quality data management, electronic file organization and data integrity, including metadata
Other duties as assigned.
Undergraduate junior to graduate student.
Educational studies in Geography, Geographic Information Sciences, Applied Geography, or related study.
