We’re looking for a motivated GIS/CAD Intern to join our Construction Technology team. This internship is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with spatial data, CAD files, and GIS platforms. You’ll assist in converting engineering drawings into GIS deliverables, support map creation, and help manage project data for real-world construction projects.What You'll Do
  • Assist with CAD to GIS conversion (DWG, DGN, KMZ) into GIS-friendly formats like shapefiles and feature classes.
  • Help clean and organize CAD files, standardize layer names, and simplify geometry.
  • Support map creation in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online for field crews and estimators.
  • Prepare feature class layers for field data collection and configure dropdown menus, symbology, and attributes.
  • Organize project folders, manage uploads to AGOL, and assist with QA/QC checks.
  • Collaborate with the GIS team to troubleshoot data issues and refine workflows.
Minimum QualificationsEducation:
  • Studying for a Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Esri technical training or certifications desirable.
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Exposure to Trimble Business Center (TBC) or OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
  • Experience with ESRI Field Maps or Collector.
  • Understanding of civil construction terminology.
