GIS Intern at ACC Inc (Hourly)

 

Job Description Summary:

The ACC Incubator for Professional Skills (ACC Inc) is seeking highly motivated individuals for two part-time Geographic Information System (GIS) Interns positions to complete, verify, standardize, and finalize the ACC Tree Survey for each campus. Interns will work in the ACC Inc office at the Highland Campus across from the GIS Lab. Interns will also travel to other ACC campuses as required during the project. This internship pays $23 per hour for a maximum of 19 hours per week. These positions are a great opportunity for students to enhance the academic, technical, and professional skills preferred by GIS employers.

 

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities

  • Works under direct supervision of the Project Manager performing moderately complex work, including surveying tree location, attributes, and photos using Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI).

  • Communicating with professional peers, supervisors, and clients.

  • May be involved in training and other duties as assigned. 

 

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an ACC GIS course.

  • Basic understanding of ArcGIS Pro, editing, and geospatial data.

  • Windows-based computer with webcam and microphone; less than three years old; with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and ArcGIS (provided); and a dependable Internet connection.

  • Willingness to travel to all ACC campus locations as required during the project.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with standard office software.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with ArcGIS Pro.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling.

  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

 

Safety

  • Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.

 

Pay Rate

$23.00/hour
