LOCATION: This is a hybrid position requiring regular in-office presence in either Kansas City, MO or Alexandria, VA.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking a GIS Intern, you will be exposed to variety of technology services areas, and perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career.
The Tepa Companies 2026 Intern Program is a paid opportunity for the duration of 12 weeks. Depending on your workload and school schedule, the work schedule will be approximately 40 hours per week in the office location.
Job Functions:
- Maintain and update geospatial data using current Esri technology.
- Conduct spatial data analysis.
- Create custom map products.
- Performs quality control procedures.
- Collects field data with GPS.
- Uses LiDAR scanners to support reality capture and digital twin development.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Geology, or another related field from an accredited program
- Must be within two years of graduating (rising junior/rising senior)
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
- Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
