Position: GIS Analyst 

Customer / Work Location:  Tobyhanna, PA (Applicants must live within driving distance of Tobyhanna) 

Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000

Description: The GIS Analyst will be responsible for performing data collection, advanced geospatial analysis, and data validation to ensure GIS records adhere to Army Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) and Army Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs), develop dynamic data driven map books, provide technical reports, development & delivery of customer training.   

Duties include: 

• Provides technical, onsite support deploying GIS solutions with detailed spatial and relational database analysis. 
• Provides thorough research and analysis with an understanding of Army real property business systems and policy requirements. 
• Develops best practices to address customer needs for managing and updating geospatial data to meet specified requirements.  
• Assists the Senior GIS Analyst with the development of geospatial training and documentation. 
• Responsible for updating and maintaining multiple GIS datasets consisting of nearly 100 Feature Classes and ensuring all geometry and attribute information adheres to SDSFIE and QAP specifications through QA/QC checks. 
• Responsible for updating standard and custom map products for the customer. 
• Creates and updates geospatial metadata. 
• Provides support for creating and managing geospatial applications via ArcGIS Portal (Experience Builder, Instant Apps, Dashboards, etc).   
• Provides advanced geospatial analysis using SQL queries, data models, and basic Python scripts. 
• Assist in maintaining, modifying, and using geographic information systems (GIS) databases for geospatial analysis, mapping, and reporting. 
• Develops and provides geospatial data products (maps, applications, presentation graphics, and PDFs) for customer requests. 
• Track map requests and ensure that published maps are numbered for document control purposes. 
• Provides input and recommendations from data analysis to improve GIS data integrity and data relationships between GIS and other business-related databases. 
• Conduct periodic site surveys to verify and collect data. 
• Works to integrate GIS data with other business systems, as directed by the customer. 

Proficiency: Performing spatial analysis and reporting and use of SQL query statements to extract tabular data.  High proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and Portal using advanced tools and extensions, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook are required.  Must be familiar with SDSFIE data model and standards.    

Qualifications:  

• US Citizenship
• Bachelor’s Degree in GIS or related field 
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience utilizing geospatial software and applications in ArcGIS Pro & Portal for ArcGIS 
• Must possess one year of experience creating, updating, and analyzing SDSFIE geospatial data.   
• Per Government contracting requirements, the candidate must be able to clearly speak, read, and write in the English language
