About the Role:
EnergyUnited EMC is seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to join our Grid Modernization team. In this role, you will provide advanced GIS analysis, maintain accurate system maps, and deliver analytical solutions to support engineering, operations, and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced with ESRI GIS systems and spatial data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update detailed system maps, including transmission maps, circuit diagrams, and one-line diagrams.
- Digitize maps, staking sheets, plats, and orthophotos into the GIS system.
- Perform complex spatial analysis, data validation, and quality control to support system planning, engineering studies, and operational decision-making.
- Assist in enterprise GIS architecture, system integration, and ArcGIS Enterprise administration.
- Integrate GIS data with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI.
- Provide drafting, plotting, and GIS-related artwork for the Cooperative.
- Approve GIS work prior to inclusion in system maps and recommend process improvements.
- Support database maintenance, project planning, and storm/emergency duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with ESRI-based GIS systems, including ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Experience with AutoCAD and NISC Mapping preferred.
- Proficiency in SQL Server, including writing and optimizing queries.
- Experience integrating GIS data with analytics tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Knowledge of Python or ArcPy scripting is a plus.
- Familiarity with the electrical utility industry is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and work independently.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and move around the office occasionally.
- Lift items up to 30 lbs as needed.
- High precision required for computer-based GIS and AutoCAD work.
- Availability for emergency storm duty and occasional travel.

Residency Requirement:
Must reside within the 19-county service area or within a 40-mile radius of any EnergyUnited office.
