Job Summary:
As Senior GIS Analyst, you will be an integral member of a forward-thinking GIS team supporting initiatives across the agency. You will be responsible for the delivery of data collection applications that ensure data quality through assurance and control mechanisms. We seek to successfully implement creative yet simple solutions that exceed our customer's expectations, keeping in line with the vision of ADEQ’s overall data and technology strategic direction. If you consider yourself to be a subject matter expert in data quality and design, can configure, update, and maintain data collection tools, and are interested in taking on a lead role, then this opportunity is right for you!
This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangements).

Job Duties:
Lead design, testing, and implementation of data collection and visualization tools.
Participate in multiple technically complex, mission critical, and high profile projects or initiatives simultaneously
Develop SQL or Python scripts for data processing, analysis, and reporting
Perform spatial analysis activities and serve as lead or consultant for such activities throughout the agency
Direct development and implementation of quality control procedures for GIS processes, procedures, services, and products
Establish and adjust data collection processes within GIS team to support product development and delivery
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Working knowledge of or ability to learn GIS systems, including spatial data and database management systems and development platforms; mapping software; mapping tools; and online spatial content portal systems
Experience in managing large GIS projects including needs assessments, data creation/migration, process re-engineering, quality control, maintenance, and dissemination
Excellent organizational, analytical, and planning skills to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Skill integrating GIS data with enterprise business systems
Understanding of databases, web services, webhooks, mobile device configurations, web browsers, and systems architecture
Ability to stay apprised of the latest advances in GIS
Selective Preference(s):
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Example disciplines include Geography, GIS, Computer Science, etc.
3-5 years of GIS and analysis/development experience (or equivalent IT experience)
2-4 years of experience in geodatabase management, preferably SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL or similar
Experience developing Survey123 applications for end-to-end workflows including integration with business databases and automations
Certifications: GISP a plus but not required
