About the Role:

In this role, you’ll work closely with team members to create and refine GIS data and drawings throughout all project phases, exercising initiative, and solving challenges under minimal supervision. You’ll also perform basic GIS analyses on spatial datasets to support project needs, and develop user-friendly web applications and dashboards to visualize project data, track progress, and communicate insights to stakeholders.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Utilize ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ESRI Enterprise, AutoCAD, Google Earth, along with other industry-related software as needed to complete projects
  • Perform advanced spatial analysis and modeling
  • Create and maintain customized dashboards and web apps using ArcGIS Dashboards and ArcGIS Experience Builder
  • Develop Survey123 forms for field workflows (Survey123 Connect experience is preferred)
  • Develop custom GIS tools and workflows for ArcGIS Pro using Python and/or Model Builder
  • Collaborate with data analysts, designers, engineers, project managers, and potentially clients to support GIS initiatives, create maps, web apps, and various figures.
  • Research and compile GIS data, including survey data, aerial photographs, LIDAR data, environmental data, transportation information, and utility data
  • Create PDFs, figures, web maps, and web apps etc., using GIS software to tell a story that can be universally interpreted
  • Use GIS knowledge to come up with creative solutions to ongoing projects and identify workflow improvements depending on client and project needs
  • Provide documentation on GIS workflows & data models as needed
What You Bring:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of work experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (required)
  • Advanced understanding and experience using GIS software (ArcGIS Pro) (required)
  • Hands-on experience using ArcGIS Experience Builder and ArcGIS Dashboards (required)
  • Proficient in Python and Arcade for workflow automation, and customization of maps, web apps, and dashboards (required)
  • Proven experience with maintaining and editing GIS databases (required)
  • Experience building forms in Survey123 and Survey123 Connect (preferred)
  • Communicate technical information both verbally and in writing (preferred)
  • Experience using Model Builder to streamline geoprocessing tasks, automation, and data management (preferred)
  • Strong cartography skills in creating paper and web maps (preferred)
  • Familiar with Rest APIs and Javascript (preferred)
  • Experience with Spatial Analysis techniques and tools
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office Software
  • Demonstrated proficiency in handling multiple tasks daily and weekly, and able to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Strong desire to advance your knowledge and keep up to date with upgrades in technology
  • A valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to our company insurance provider is a condition of initial and continued employment (required)
  • Ability to work safely and always obey safety regulations
  • Ability to work overtime as required and/or travel for out-of-town assignments
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy
