Position Summary:
The GIS Analyst plays a key role in supporting multiple projects by creating visualizations that depict risks and threats across spatial locations. This position involves contributing to critical infrastructure analysis, IT infrastructure support, energy security, mission analysis, and all-hazard threat assessments. As a collaborative team member, the GIS Analyst conducts site surveys, reviews project specifications, and interprets technical data from diverse fields to produce comprehensive reports and visualizations. These efforts enhance the security, functionality, and resilience of our clients' infrastructure, enabling them to effectively respond, collaborate, and share information to achieve their mission objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Experience with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online
- Knowledge of database management and design
- Ability to develop maps and visual products through conversation with a client
- Strong abilities in data manipulation, conversion, and integration
- Strong cartography and data visualization skills
- Knowledge of programming in Python, SQL, and/or Model Builder
- Basic knowledge of the functions of infrastructure: Telecommunications (IT, telephone, satellite, radio), electricity transmission and distribution, natural gas distribution, water infrastructure (drinking water, storm water drainage, sewage collection and disposal), transportation networks, emergency response, and physical security assets
- Demonstrates GIS knowledge in identifying, mapping, and analyzing threat and hazard data to support situational awareness and decision-making
- Regularly explore advancements in GIS technology, attend training or industry events, and implement innovative tools to enhance workflows and deliver effective solutions.
- Contributes to project planning and collaborates with other team members
Competencies:
- Experience with ArcGIS Applications such as Experience Builder, Dashboard, and Knowledge
- Experience with database administration such as PostgreSQL
- Experience with REST Services layer
- Knowledge of programming in Javascript, C++, and/or C#
- Basic understanding of excel function, data formatting, and manipulation
Education & Experience Requirements:
- 3-6 years of GIS work experience
- Bachelor's degree in Cartography, Computer Science, Geography, Geographic Information Systems or
- GEOINT Certificate plus 4 years of experience related to job duties
Desired Certificates & Licenses:
- Geographical Information System Professional (GISP)
Other Requirements:
- Security Clearance: Obtaining a DoD Secret Clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for clearance level required for the job.
- Valid Passport: Possession of a current passport with a minimum of 8 months remaining until the expiration date.
- Hybrid Role: Includes monthly travel to a local designated government site to work on secure networks and maintain access.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness and capability to travel, CONUS and OCONUS approximately 5% of the time.
- Work Environment Compliance: Commitment to maintaining a drug-free work environment, U.S. Citizenship, and possession of a valid state driver's license.
