This position performs routine and complex GIS data analyses and database-related assignments for the city departments.

The employee will have the responsibility of:

·        Performing a variety of Citywide GIS application development functions

·        Evaluating, installing, maintaining, and enhancing GIS applications

·        Creating custom GIS web applications and maintaining databases, functions, and services

·        Understanding of scripting within the ArcGIS environment

·        Overseeing and updating several land-based related data sets and coordinating on regional 911 addressing issues for the City of Killeen

·        Updating addresses within the Naviline Land Management database as needed

·        Utilizing data entry, data migration, and manipulation techniques to complete tasks

·        Understanding properties of maps, including distance, scales, and legends

·        Identifying source documents used to create maps, creating metadata to support GIS applications

·        Having knowledge of ESRI’s SDE Enterprise functionality and MS SQL

·        Collecting and converting mapping resources and data within the scopes of services for the Engineering/GIS division

·        Performing ad hoc mapping duties including advanced spatial and network analysis

·        Utilizing ArcGIS Model Builder to perform spatial analysis and develop applications

·        Preparing reports, graphical and tabular, using GIS tools

·        Collecting and converting field data using a Global Positioning System device and field equipment

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

·        Associates degree in GIS or related field; and

·        One (1) year of experience in GIS position or related field; or

·        Any equivalent combination of related education and experience that is equal to or greater than 3 years

Special Requirements:

·        Must have a valid Texas driver’s license by date-of-hire
