Principal Duties & Responsibilities

As a GIS Analyst, your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Product Creation: Formatting and generating a variety of GIS products, including standard and custom maps, templates, shapefiles, tables, and reports.
  • Data Management: Extracting, organizing, and performing quality control on data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Analysis & Maintenance: Querying and analyzing spatial data, maintaining geospatial databases, and converting non-GIS information into GIS formats.
  • Field Support: Facilitating field data collection and supporting the standardization of department-collected data layers.
  • Process Improvement: Developing and testing GIS applications to meet customer needs and improving quality control processes for spatial data.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Pro is essential.
  • Field Experience: Experience or knowledge of Esri applications such as Field Maps and Survey123 is preferred, along with knowledge of geospatial field methods and equipment.
