Performs GIS related planning, preparation, and maintenance.
**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

Essential FunctionsNote: These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position.
Edits and creates datasets, maps, and map-based applications using ArcGIS software. Uses cartographic design principles to produce effective visualizations for print and digital use. Performs spatial analysis to support operations.
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills when responding to user questions and requests for service. Assists end-users and participates in project teams where technical support is needed for GIS processes and data conversion.
Performs technical work to support and maintain GIS layers, maps, and toolsets associated with public safety and disaster response systems.
Assists in maintaining GIS databases, web services, and related software integrations.
Maintains documentation and metadata to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Follows established standards and best practices for GIS workflows and data management.
Additional Duties:
Performs other related work as required.
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.
Minimum QualificationsCompletion of associate’s degree (or higher) and one (1) year of experience is required.
Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Additional RequirementsDemonstrated proficiency with Esri ArcGIS software, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and/or ArcGIS Enterprise.
Experience with Python, Modelbuilder, and/or SQL is desired.
Familiarity with local government operations such as land use, public works, utilities, addressing, E911, and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) is desired.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear documentation and correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences.
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage projects, maintain records, and solve routine problems independently.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
All employees must attend Seminole County required trainings.
Department specific trainings per position may be required.
