What will I be doing? 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a GIS Analyst - Data Visualization Specialist. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of GIS and planning professionals to support various projects and contribute to the development of high-quality maps, spatial data products, and 3D models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct spatial analysis using GIS software to transform datasets, quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of GIS databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Produce high-quality maps, charts, 3D modeling and visualizations for reports, presentations, and publications.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand client requirements and contribute to the development of GIS solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Research and acquire geospatial data from various sources, including government agencies, satellite imagery providers, and open data repositories.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in GIS and data visualization and recommend innovative approaches to enhance project workflows and deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.

Key Qualifications 

  • Background in Geography, GIS, Cartography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS Pro, 3D GIS, ArcGIS Online and ESRI Developer Platforms.
  • Familiarity with cartographic principles and design techniques.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, & Photoshop).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Do you have…  

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study   
  • 3 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties 

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge in regional transportation planning (RTP/TIP) process and travel demand modeling
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R is a plus.
  • Experience in web development (e.g., JavaScript, Node.js, React) or familiarity with data visualization tools (such as Power BI, Tableau, Streamlit, Dash Plotly) is a plus.

Expected Hiring Salary Range

$51,000.00 - $68,000.00
