Job Title: Geospatial Technician II

Location: Houston, TX
The Geospatial Technician II is an intermediate-level position within the Aerial department. This role involves a more advanced level of responsibility compared to the Geospatial Technician I, with a focus on more complex data collection, analysis, and geospatial product management. The Geospatial Technician II is expected to work with minimal supervision, assist in leading projects, and mentor junior team members. This position supports the creation and maintenance of maps, spatial databases, and other geospatial products that drive the organization’s strategic goals.

The Geospatial Technician II primarily works in an office setting with occasional fieldwork required. The role involves extensive use of computers and GIS software, as well as collaboration with team members and other departments. Fieldwork may require travel to various locations and working in varying weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities
Data Processing
- Accurately process and evaluate geospatial data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Perform lidar calibration, classification and filtering to create derivative geospatial products.
- Generate high quality 3D point clouds and orthomosaic images using Structure from Motion Photogrammetric processing.
- Demonstrate expertise in industry standard software including LP360, LAStools, Global Mapper, ArcPro, Pix4D and Civil 3D.
- Minimum of two years of experience in Lidar calibration, classification and deliverable creation.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in the aforementioned software.
- Experience in civil 3D drafting is a plus.
- Advance understanding of geospatial and geodetic principles.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information effectively.
- A valid driver’s license is required for fieldwork activities.
