Geospatial Systems Administrator

Xcellent Technology Solutions

Denver, Colorado

Deadline Sep 01, 2025
Geospatial Systems Administrator

Location: Denver, CO

Salary:  $65,000

At the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), technical work supports something far greater than just systems, it supports science that informs policy, safeguards natural resources, and protects communities. The Geospatial Systems Administrator role places you at the intersection of IT infrastructure and geospatial science, where every system you maintain contributes to national mapping, environmental analysis, and disaster response readiness.

The Geospatial Systems Administrator not only supports enterprise-level geospatial systems used by scientists, analysts, and decision-makers across the country—they will also install and configure GIS software (such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise), troubleshoot system and application issues, and provision and maintain laptops. Whether resolving a software conflict or enabling a new map service, your work will directly empower real-world applications—tracking drought, mapping wildfires, and managing natural hazards.

Unlike traditional IT roles focused solely on uptime and tickets, this position supports a mission-first environment where technology directly underpins public safety, environmental stewardship, and data transparency. The work is meaningful, the pace is steady, and the culture values precision, reliability, and curiosity.
