BAE Systems

Springfield, Virginia

Are you an imagery or geospatial analyst interested in modernizing the way IT architecture supports the analytic mission? BAE Systems is seeking a passionate GEOINT analyst for a unique position that connects intelligence needs with software development: Mission Engineer. As a Mission Engineer, you will engage directly with intelligence analysts to understand their mission needs and then bring that knowledge back to your Scrum team. This position balances on-site user engagement with telework flexibility, enabling work-life balance while still supporting an exciting national security mission.

Mission Engineers support continuous user engagement, collecting requirements and needs from GEOINT analysts with a similar background as themselves. A Mission Engineer brings a solid understanding of data modeling and solicits feedback from different analytic branches and user divisions. Once software is developed, Mission Engineers develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and troubleshoot issues with analysts on the floor. Working within BAE Systems’ agile environment, you will support development efforts and help train government analysts (desk-side and in the classroom). Mission Engineers are key to the success of this program, ensuring that analytic user interfaces are intuitive, operational, and trusted by a range of intelligence analysts.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4-8 years' experience
