Summary: LJA, a leading engineering and surveying company in Texas is currently seeking a fulltime innovative Senior Geospatial Data Technician to help grow our LiDAR processing and extraction initiatives to meet the growing needs of our client base. The selected candidate will work from our Houston, TX office within a team environment to develop processes and workflows to automate LiDAR extraction and ensure that LiDAR products meet and exceed our stringent quality assurance standards. Candidates must have flexible schedules and be able to work with little to no supervision to accomplish assigned tasks in a fast-paced team environment.

General Responsibilities:
- Experience with LiDAR data processing techniques
- Functional knowledge of image processing software including IDL, MATLAB, ENVI and ArcGIS
- Organized and attentive to detail
- Traveling when/if required
- Assemble, Lead and Mentor department
- Post processing of the LiDAR and other types of data
- Ensure integrity and quality of systems, data and collection processes
Required Education & Skills:
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Geomatics, Engineering, GIS or related discipline or 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong emphasis on LiDAR data classification and extraction (required)
- Skilled use and advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D, Phoenix Inertial Explorer, Agisoft Metashape, MicroStation and TerraSolid (TerraScan, TerraModeler, TerraPhoto, TerraMatch, TerraSlave), LP360, ArcGIS, Global Mapper and other mapping software. (required), GeoCue Production Management software is a plus.
- Must have the desire to learn new technologies, software, hardware, methodologies and assist the LIDAR team to operate at maximum efficiency.
- The successful candidate must work well with others, be team oriented, helpful and a good problem solver.
- Strong commitment to quality and adhere to deadlines.
Basic Duties include but not limited to:
- Project setup
- Perform GPS Post-Processing
- Lidar Calibration, Classification and editing
- Orthophoto Production
- Planimetric and Topographic Mapping
- Generate Lidar raster DEMS and other LIDAR derived products
- Data Quality Control and Assurance
- Automate data and production workflows
- Document processes and workflows
- Assess project requirements and lead a team through project completion
- R&D skills a plus
