State Minimum Requirements: An associate's degree in a related field or high school diploma and relevant work experience.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Agency Additional Requirements: A bachelor's degree in geography or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years work experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of user applications for geographic information systems. Environmental Systems Research Institute Arc Geographic Information System (ESRI ArcGIS) - two (2) years experience; American National Standards Institute Structured Query Language (ANSI SQL) experience - two (2) years; Network Enabled Technologies (NET) and/or C# - two (2) years experience. Knowledge of GIS software standards and capabilities, database design and spatial statistics. Ability to establish working relationships with management, committee / work team members and customers. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Employee will work under limited supervision. Must be customer-oriented and respond to priority tasks as needed. Some after-hour and weekend work may be required that will also include supporting the Asset Control Center (ACC) prior to, during, and post activities associated with an emergency event.

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications, subject to approval by the SCDPH Chief Human Resources Officer, or their delegate.
