General Information:

The chief objective of this position is to document and map Telecommunications Infrastructure across the campus of James Madison University.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Duties and responsibilities include entering confined spaces, diagramming/documenting confined spaces, GPSing/Locating outside infrastructure, GPSing/documenting Emergency Phones, diagramming/documenting inside infrastructure, importing and manipulating GPS data/files, mapping inside of Mapcom M4 Solutions, data entry, and documenting
• GIS metadata.
• Boots and long pants will be required on site locations.
• Experience with Global Positioning System data collection methods and tools required.
• Experience with GIS data creation and manipulation required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team required.
• Experience with Locators a plus.
• Experience with Safe Software’s.
• FME product a plus.
• Experience with Mapcom M4Solutions a plus.

Conditions of Employment:  

• Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
• Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
