Job Description:

In this role, you'll work closely with our team, gaining hands-on experience while supporting system analysis, business workflows, and technical assistance. You'll play a valuable part in writing and reporting for grant applications, as well as conducting essential informatician tasks. We're excited to have you help with system training and lend your support to the project management team whenever needed!


 

  • The assignee will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing systems and databases to access and store geospatial data.
  • Perform data analysis utilizing mapping software conforming to standardized best practices.
  • Design digital maps using geospatial data modeling and analyze spatial and non-spatial information.
  • Administer and troubleshoot applications and GIS solutions.
  • Analyze spatial data to discover patterns and trends through mapping software and design digital maps with geographic data and various other data sets. Manage a digital library of geographic maps and meta data in various file types.
  • Create “shapefiles” to merge topographical data with external data by layering external data over a topographical map.
  • Coordinate the development of web-based GIS applications, datasets, maps, and perform tasks such as geocoding addresses within various databases.


 

Requirements//Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Informatics, or Health field plus 4 years of experience working in data analysis, statistics, & interpretation of data in a health subject area OR Master’s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Informatics, or Health field plus 2 years of experience. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Above plus Degree in Geography.
