Geographic Information System I
The Ocean County Utilities Authority is seeking a Geographic Information System I
(GIS I) in the Information Services Department to coordinate the day-to-day operation of an ESRI ArcGIS Server Geographic Information System (GIS). The Authority GIS is used to track the maintenance assets for a collection system that includes approximately 200 miles of pipelines with manholes, 40 pump stations, 80 meter chambers, three Ocean outfalls, and over 1500 property records.
Responsibilities include GIS system administration, software update/patch application, feature attribute entry/maintenance, creation of maps, GIS web site maintenance, administration of a variety of GIS coverages, management of digital orthophotography, support of GPS field data collection, and help desk support for GIS end-users. The GIS I also provides end-user support for all commonly used application software used throughout the Authority.
All interested candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in geography, engineering, cartography, environmental sciences, or a related area. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience with GIS including computer graphics and hardware procedures. It is preferred that the candidate has experience with ESRI GIS software for both desktop and web-based applications. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
