REPORTS TO: Director of Children’s Funding + Strategy 

WORK LOCATION: RMP’s satellite office at Community Reach Center (1870 W 122nd Ave, Westminster, CO 80234), remote online work from home and designated locations within the community. Must be available for in-person work during business hours and occasional evenings and weekends.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Collaborative Action Data Analyst is a core member of RMP’s Collaborative Action and Data and Insight squads, responsible for the day-to-day work of collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data that powers RMP’s collaborative action work including scorecards, dashboards, data hubs, fiscal maps, cost modeling, and reports. This role works under the direction of the Director of Children’s Funding and Strategy, executing on data priorities and ensuring that RMP’s data products are accurate, timely, and accessible.

The Analyst leads the technical development of data-driven mapping products, including geo maps using ESRI/ArcGIS and fiscal maps. This position also supports the build-out and ongoing maintenance of RMP’s data warehouse. They transform complex data into clear, compelling information for internal teams and, as directed, for partners and the broader community.

As part of this role, the Analyst supports collection, analysis, organization, and interpretation of public funding information across the region and state that helps communities better understand, align, and strengthen investments in service of shared cradle-to-career outcomes. This function is supported with technical assistance and professional development in partnership with The Children’s Funding Project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Collection, Cleaning, & Management (50%)

• Collaborate with RMP Directors to define the scope, parameters, and audience of data-driven products
• Pull, clean, validate, and prepare datasets from multiple sources, including public datasets, partner submissions, survey results, government agencies, school districts, and community organizations
• Research, collect, and synthesize fiscal data, including public funding sources, budgets, grants, legislation, and policy opportunities impacting children and youth, drawing on state agencies, local programs, and national databases to support cost modeling
• Conduct policy research on regulations, quality standards, and program requirements that affect costs
• Lead the data verification process in collaboration with local and regional partners
• Develop and manage large datasets across disparate systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely updates
• Maintain shared drives, data source libraries, databases, and documentation for all data assets and ongoing projects
• Support the build-out and ongoing maintenance of RMP's data warehouse, including data migration, validation, and quality checks

Data Analysis & Visualization (50%)

• Conduct descriptive and trend analysis to inform and track progress toward cradle-to-career milestones
• Create dashboards, charts, maps, and interactive visuals that make data clearer and actionable, aligned with RMP branding and accessibility standards
• Develop and maintain interactive geographic and other quantitative maps that visualize outcomes, resources, and contextual factors

Fiscal Analysis & Visualization

• Lead the development, maintenance, and refinement of fiscal maps that track and analyze public funding streams for children and youth across agencies, systems, and levels of government
• Analyze how public dollars flow, where fragmentation or misalignment exists, and where opportunities for coordination, alignment, or growth may be present, including analysis of state-level budgets
• Develop funding inventories, resource maps, fiscal analyses, and other tools that support strategic decision-making
• Prepare reports, summaries, presentations, and visualizations that translate complex fiscal information into clear, accessible insights for partners and decision-makers

Cost Modeling

• Lead the development, analysis, and maintenance of cost models that estimate the true costs of designing and implementing child and youth programming
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify cost drivers, efficiency opportunities, and sustainability factors
• Analyze funding streams, rate structures, and financing mechanisms as they relate to program or service costs

Cross-Cutting

• Integrate mapping products into RMP's data scorecards, data hubs, and dashboards for both public and internal audiences
• Ensure all data products are properly tested, organized, and maintained, including file structure management and quality checks before anything is published or shared
• Coordinate with the Data Impact Strategist, Director of Asset Mapping, and Director of Data Infrastructure & Analytics to ensure maps, visuals, and other tools meet partner needs and are accessible to non-technical audiences

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years experience in data analysis, visualization, or a related field
• Proficient in data visualization and analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar)
• Experience with survey and statistical tools (e.g., Qualtrics, SPSS) a plus
• Experience cleaning, preparing, and managing complex data sets
• Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and experience supporting data migration or validation work a plus
• Knowledge of data visualization best practices and geospatial mapping
• Ability to communicate technical data to non-technical audiences
• Familiarity with cradle-to-career ecosystems, collective impact, or similar community-based work preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work Environment:
  This role involves a combination of remote work, in-office work at RMP’s main location, and participation in meetings at community spaces. Most work will occur during standard business hours, with occasional evening or weekend commitments. COMPENSATION

RMP offers a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience and skills. The starting salary range for this position is $65,000–$80,000.
