35-24 GIS/ CADD Technician (Electric): This position performs Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping tasks associated with electrical engineering design and maintenance projects. This position reports directly to the Engineering Technician Supervisor. Coordinate applicable departmental GIS activities with other departments. Provide data, drawings and reports from the computer automated mapping system as requested or required. Verify the accuracy of mapping data by going out into the field to take physical measurements or readings. Utilize automated GPS equipment as needed for locations. Assist with development and maintenance of an accurate GIS mapping system. Perform other related duties as required or assigned, particularly as it relates to the generation of the geographic information system.  

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, cartography, electrical or civil engineering, Geographic Information Systems or a related field; and three years of experience with ESRI ArcGIS (or similar) and MS Office software Suite; or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  A GIS certificate is preferred and a valid driver’s license.  Starting Range: $19.31- $20.48 per hour DOQ plus comprehensive benefits package is available including health, dental, vision, life, and retirement.
