BART offers comprehensive compensation and benefits programs. This position will be responsible for supervising the staff, programs, applications and enterprise workflows associated with BART’s award winning enterprise geographic information system. This position is responsible for wide range of projects that touch all executive offices at BART. The enterprise geographic information system is a collection of geographic layers, services and relational databases used by BART to provide support and intelligence for Police Operations, Train Control, Demographics Analysis, Cartography, Photogrammetry, LiDAR, AutoCAD and Imagery. This is an exciting opportunity to join the BART GIS team that has won 2 Special Achievement in GIS Awards from ESRI and is in the forefront of GIS development in the Public Transportation Sector.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following criteria beyond the minimum qualifications:
Essential Job Functions
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
Five (5) years of (full-time equivalent) verifiable information systems experience, which must have included at least one (1) year of supervisory and administrative experience.
Must be available for resolution of computer operation problems outside of normal shift hours.
Additional professional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
