Within the GIS Department, leads the creation, design, testing, maintenance and deployment of SCARNG web applications. Creates and supports both GIS and a-spatial web-based applications using object oriented program languages and other technologies. Translates functional requirements into technical design and development projects. Automates processes and procedures using scripting languages. Assists the GIS department as necessary. Works with IT staff and contractors to maintain and enhance performance and site security. Serves as technical liaison in matters related to development, identifies operational process improvements and makes recommendations, links business objectives with technical capabilities. Prepares training materials to guide new users on procedures and usage. Provides development support to all partnerships and agency offices, including training and knowledge transfer.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, or a related field and 2 years of expert-level work experience in web development/design; or an associate degree in geography, computer science, or a related field and 5 years of expert-level work experience in web development/design. Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a US Government Secret Security Clearance.
