Senior Sales Executive

mPower Technologies, Inc.

Iron Mountain,  Michigan

We are seeking a proven software sales executive to sell our state-of-the-art GIS-based software solutions, including map/data integration, outage management (OMS), work management (WMS), vehicle location (AVL), and integration of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) data to prospects in the small and mid-sized utilities markets (municipal, rural, investor-owned, and private). The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to successfully sell enterprise software solutions to senior managers and directors across the U.S.

Responsibilities include identifying and cultivating new sales prospects through a variety of channels, cross-selling solutions to existing clients, conducting virtual and live presentations around our solutions and capabilities, building consensus, and negotiating and closing long-term agreements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an aggressive customer acquisition strategy across multiple vertical markets
  • Build a network by targeting and establishing access to key decision-makers in designated accounts
  • Collaborate with marketing and finance to identify and align resources, action plans, and communications required to execute sales strategy
  • Build relationships to identify and understand prospect needs and connect with mPower products and services
  • Articulate how mPower is uniquely positioned to best meet consumer needs over the competition
  • Capture, maintain and disseminate accurate and relevant prospect information using Salesforce.com
  • Maintain key customer relationships through visits, calls, quarterly reviews and internal/external functions
  • Develop and implement strategies to cross-sell other mPower solutions to existing clients
  • Maintain current customer relationships by providing strong service support and coordination and addressing/resolving issues
  • Act as the direct, primary face-to-face contact to the customer
  • Develop, manage, negotiate, and close long-term agreements with prospects
  • Mine existing and prospective clients for referral business
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting
  • Develop and maintain an action plan for how accounts will achieve targets and identify specific actions to reach or exceed assigned sales goals
  • Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales
  • Conduct virtual and live presentations around our solutions

Qualifications, Experience, and Abilities

  • Have a minimum of 7 years business-to-business software/SaaS sales experience, successfully selling enterprise corporate software/technology solutions (ideally, GIS and/or Asset Management solutions) at the executive level
  • Experience with and understanding of GIS software, such as Esri, Milsoft, DataVoice, NISC, Autodesk, Futura, or similar programs
  • Have a bachelor’s degree (preferably in GIS, computer science, engineering, business or marketing-related field), or equivalent experience
  • Significant and proven experience developing relationships with senior executives
  • Exceptional sales performance history that can be confirmed through references and documentation, including a track record of exceeding company sales quotas
  • Training in solution or customer-centric selling and/or consulting experience
  • Excellent presentation and listening skills, including the ability to demonstrate software and effectively and convincingly communicate with technical and non-technical executives alike
  • Goal-oriented and ambitious with capacity and drive to reach and exceed sales quotas
  • Have experience using general office software, including SalesForce CRM, Microsoft Office, and Google G-Suite
  • Aggressive, hard-working, persuasive, persistent, self-motivated, and productive
  • Strong time management, organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have consistent job tenure and work history
  • Ability to work in a flexible environment
  • Consideration of remote employment of the right candidate
  • Travel 30%+
