The purpose of this position is to analyze, design, and implement Geographic Information System (GIS) based solutions to meet County and department needs, to assist in enterprise database development, design and management, and to assist in application development. This position does not provide direction to other employees.

Job Requirements
Formal Education / Knowledge
Work requires broad knowledge in a general profession or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years from an accredited college/university resulting in a Bachelor's degree.
Experience
Four years of relevant experience with mapping and database management software, including application development and support.
Certification and Other Requirements
Valid Class C Drivers License
Overall Physical Strength Demands
Light - Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
Supplemental Information
Reading
Advanced - Ability to read literature, books, reviews, scientific or technical journals, abstracts, financial reports, and/or legal documents. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in at the college level or above. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
Math
Advanced - Ability to apply fundamental concepts of theories, work with advanced mathematical operations methods, and functions of real and complex variables. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in at the college level or above. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
Writing
Intermediate - Ability to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
Managerial
Receives limited directions. The employee normally performs the duty assignment according to his or her own judgment, requesting supervisory assistance only when necessary. The assignment may be reviewed upon completion. Performance is reviewed periodically.
Supervisory / Organizational Control
Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, volunteers or temporary employees.
Complexity
Work requires analysis and judgment in accomplishing diversified duties. Requires the exercise of independent thinking within the limits of policies, standards, and precedents.
