Region Senior GIS Analyst (GIS Analyst II)

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is leading the way in transportation and innovation across the country. UDOT is looking to fill its Region GIS Analyst II (Senior GIS Analyst) position at our Region Two office located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Principal Duties
As the GIS Analyst II, you will plan and complete complex GIS projects and information products using a variety of GIS software and techniques for the region. Your tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the GIS and mapping needs of the region.
  • Performing spatial analysis and preparing data.
  • Designing and implementing customizable GIS solutions that fulfill business needs.
  • Creating, inputting, generating, maintaining, integrating, mapping, analyzing, and performing quality control of spatial data.
  • Completing other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate

  • The best candidate for this position will have at least one of the following:
  • A Bachelor's degree, or higher, in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field
  • An Associates degree in GIS with a GIS certificate
  • At least two years of related professional experience.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Specialized GIS skills such as GIS tool customization, scripting, advanced cartography, spatial modeling, web map creation, etc.
  • Experience with using and configuring ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Web App Builder, ArcGIS Server and other GIS-related programs.
