Summary
The incumbent is responsible for adding and maintaining accurate land and electric facility data, feeder conductivity, phasing data, and additional characteristic / attribute data into the Geospatial Information System (GIS) in support of the Design Manager Graphical Work Design (GWD) system, PowerOn Outage Management System (OMS), SynerGEE Planning Model system, SAP, and other applications and processes associated with transmission, subtransmission, and distribution asset management and facility mapping requirements. The incumbent also creates and maintains electronic and hard copy maps for the operation and maintenance of the District's transmission, subtransmission, and distribution electrical system.

Education, Training and Experience
Associates degree in technical drafting or an engineering technology field with a minimum of 3 years experience in applying facility information to technical drawings. (OR) Post high school education in technical drafting or an engineering technology field with a minimum 3 ½ years experience required as outlined below.

Experience in applying facility information to technical drawings. Previous related as-building and GIS technology experience preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Adds and maintains new plats, roads, buildings, addresses, street names and other information associated with land base facilities objects and attribute data used by GIS, Design Manager, PowerOn, and SynerGEE users.
  • Adds and maintains electrical facilities objects and attribute data in support of field modifications, field verifications projects, new O&M agreements, end users, and other miscellaneous projects making sure data and electrical connectivity is accurate.
  • Assists the GIS Administrator in the development of standard methods and procedures for adding and maintaining data in the GIS, including the use of FME translation software.
  • Proficient on the latest version and features of GIS, CAD, and translation software used to migrate data in GIS system and all printing equipment used in the mapping process.
  • Assist in the development of process and application training materials and courses for the GIS in collaboration with end users and Master Data team members.
  • Assists in the process of data reconciliation between SAP and GIS data sources.
  • Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Continued)
    Creates wall maps, field verification maps, and additional miscellaneous maps as required to operate and maintain the District's electrical system.
  • Provides first line support for GIS data issues associated with operational problems in the outage management systems as required.
