The goal of the Asset Management Bureau is to make the right treatment on the right highway asset at the right time. In the Data Management section, our aim is to bring highway asset data to decision makers to enhance their processes. We support a wide range of business units with data management, reporting, analytics and data collection. We often use custom web mapping applications to solve users problems.

General Job Description
This is the second level of five in the GIS Professional series. This is a professional level position that provides basic transportation GIS services to a specific program or business unit.

Primary responsibilities are the creation/maintenance of transportation GIS data, the production of map products, and the execution of basic spatial analyses. This includes geospatial data editing using GIS software to maintain geospatial data in GIS databases and using GPS technology to collect data. This position is accountable for ensuring and reviewing GIS data integrity and data documentation. These duties and services are generally provided across a single program or business unit. Duties are performed under the direction of a supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications
We are seeking a passionate web map developer to help make spatial data more accessible. You will be responsible for creating lightweight user-friendly interfaces for our data. Bring your solid communication skills to bear on complex problems. Bring your empathy to stakeholder interviews and user testing. Come ready to learn, because our Agency possesses deep institutional, industrial, and transportation engineering knowledge. Bring your attention to detail to make our users' experience magical.


Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree or two (2) years college coursework in GIS, geography, computer science, transportation, engineering, or other closely related field.


Two (2) or more years of experience in GIS, geography, computer science, or other closely related field.
