The position is responsible for the performance of various technical work in the development and support of a variety of land use databases. This position performs data conversion, and integration of external data sources, particularly GPS and Microstation format into ARC/INFO based GIS databases.
General office and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, photocopier, file cabinet, and calculator. Manual dexterity, repetitive motions, ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 20 pounds, ability to reach and bend, ability to analyze data and reason to interpret policies and employment laws. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.

License & Certification
- Associates degree in related field
- 3 years’ experience in related field
- Valid Texas Driver License

- Knowledge on GIS system
Position requires high knowledge of computer software and hardware. This position is responsible for the operation of the Geographical Information System (GIS). A high level of abstract thinking is required to implement resolutions to complex problems related to spatial analysis and database relationship. In addition, this position will deliver information through means of Structured Query Language (SQL) commands. Knowledge of any CAD package is required to carry out conversions into GIS databases. Also, some programming experience with script languages is required to automate repetitive tasks at the operating system level (backups, import/export data, validation, etc). Fair understanding of Relational Database Managers (RDBMS) and table normalization is required as well.
