JOB SUMMARY: Desktop GIS data creation and editing, including transcribing information from hard copy documents into GIS, creating various maps for City departments, and may include some field data collection using ArcGIS Online and iPads.
Examples of Duties: Knowledge of desktop ArcGIS is required; knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion; and experience working with a diverse workforce. Applicant must have completed a minimum of two courses related to GIS (introductory courses such as Intro to ArcGIS I & II) or have professional experience equivalent to or exceeding the minimum course requirement. Successful applicant must be able to work independently on projects and understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Typical Qualifications: This seasonal GIS Technician should be available to work approximately 40 hours per week between 8 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday, with the term of thirteen weeks generally beginning in May and ending in August.
