Under the direction of the GIS Manager, creates transportation data layers and updates the transportation database with construction and system changes. Under the direction of the GIS Manager, creates complex queries to perform quality control on data to maintain correctness and spatial accuracy. Assists in the support of other SCDOT offices by creating and analyzing datasets for use in web maps and applications. Performs GIS analysis on transportation features in GIS/ Mapping applications to produce maps, tables and reports. Assists in the revision of city and county general highway maps by making changes/additions to the state highway system, other route systems and additional transportation layers to ensure the proper display of those layers on the map. Acquires and analyzes datasets used to update and maintain the transportation database. Assists in the development and maintenance of procedure manuals documenting GIS processes, requirements and standards. Performs other related job duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree in geography or a related field; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
