LOCATION: IT/GIS DEPARTMENT
JOB REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS and/or TRAINING: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in GIS, business, liberal arts, computer science, or other relevant field.
Requires two years of experience in GIS operations or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: GIS Certification
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Executes spatial analysis and data maintenance for GIS. Creates new digital GIS data layers as needed to complete various projects. Compiles maps for public and County Department use. Assigns E911 addresses to new structures within the City/County by calculating street ranges using the GIS mapping system. Notifies other entities such as E911, USPS & CenturyLink (MSAG) of new streets and addresses. Ensures conformity with the E911 Interact Mapping System and the County GIS software by performing quality control checks on street and address data. Assists GIS Manager with map layers updated for the Online Map System.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Assist IT coworkers as needed for equipment and software installations. Provide IT Helpdesk support and training for County employees. Performs related work as assigned.
