Under general supervision of the Water Services Director, the GIS Analyst provides analytical services to the Water Services Department using the Geographic Information System (GIS). Job duties include analyzing and digitizing spatial and tabular data to produce maps and related products; writing computer applications; creating database queries; and ensuring data integrity by performing continuous maintenance activities to enhance and update the Water Services GIS.

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Spatial Science or related technical field and two (2) years or more years related experience using Geographic Information Systems. Knowledge and experience with MS Windows, Windows-based applications, ESRI ArcGIS, Trimble GPS, Visual Basic programming language, and SQL database language. Knowledge of fundamental GIS/GPS principles and practices. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred:
Five (5) years of GIS work experience in the utility industry. Programming experience with VBA, ArcObjects, and Python. Ability to read and interpret utility construction drawings and specifications.
