Anchor QEA, LLC, an environmental science and engineering consulting firm, is seeking to fill a 3-month paid internship position in its Bellingham, Washington office. This position would be for a CAD/GIS Analyst and have the potential to become a regular, full-time job after the internship is complete.

The CAD/GIS Analyst will support project teams in Anchor QEA’s Bellingham office, working in collaboration with the CAD and GIS groups based in Seattle. Responsibilities will include helping to acquire, edit, analyze, and create a variety of CAD drawings and GIS data sets. The CAD/GIS Analyst will also produce high-quality design drawings, maps, and other graphic products for a variety of natural resource and environmental cleanup projects. In addition to these responsibilities, the CAD/GIS Analyst will perform surface modeling, develop grading plans and volume estimates, prepare construction drawings and report figures, and work with bathymetric and topographic data using surface modeling and grading tools, such as AutoDesk Civil 3D, with a civil engineering emphasis.

Requirements for the position include a bachelor’s degree in geography, environmental studies, or a related field or an AA in a technical/engineering program and 1 to 3 years of professional experience. Highest consideration will go to candidates who demonstrate ease in moving data from different source files and who are able to integrate hydraulic models with GIS and AutoCAD. Candidate will have GIS experience with ESRI data formats, Geodatabases, and ESRI extensions (Spatial Analyst, Geostatistical Analyst, and/or 3D Analyst). Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server/Enterprise, SQL Server, Python, Collector for ArcGIS, and/or ArcGIS Online is a plus.
